FAQ

CLIENT FAQ

1. How does Interior Collab vet designers?

A lot of our designers are ex-Homepolish designers that we vet via an extensive submission form that requests- company website, portfolio, years in business, qualifying documents including business card, resale certificate, professional organization membership, articles of incorporation, proof of professional license or certification. We have a dedicated membership team that reviews all applications to ensure compliance.

2. Does Interior Collab get involved with contracts?

No. We do not. We are merely a place of connection. From the moment you meet your Designer you then sign a contract directly with them.

3. How does pricing work?

We are a not-for-profit trade organization and there is no cost to you to use our site to find a Designer. Once you choose a Designer, they will discuss their pricing with you directly. We do not take a cut of the Designer's fees or are involved in pricing in any way.

4. How can you find me the perfect Designer?

Right now we have a very simple questionnaire based on style and location. By 2021 we are looking to develop a website 2.0 with a proprietary algorithm that will take into account many different things (ie. budget, location, style, experience, etc.) to highlight 2-3 Designers that meet your specific criteria, with the remaining options listed below by percentage of how closely they meet your criteria.

5. What if I begin a project with a Designer and don't like him/her?

You would resort to the termination clause in your contract with that Designer to navigate that and can still reach out to other Designers you have found through us to finish the job.

6. Does Interior Collab take any liability if we don't like our Designer?

We do not. We are merely the tool for you to meet your Designer. The difference between say Houzz and us is that we are not-for-profit business. We are a collaborative of designers advocating for Designers and directly connecting Designers with Clients without a middle man getting in the way of a project and collecting fees.
